Alert
Helena Hunter is a performance artist, based in London. Her pieces have to do primarily with femininty as a construct, something that is made and fabricated, then imposed on the body. She likes to explore the female psyche through her own kind of fairy tales and the poetic and surreal -- so she's a writer and a performer and she's extremely interesting. She's probably the antithesis of that woman from Yale who's been in the news lately because of her abortion/miscarriage stunt as performance art where she inseminates herself (or not, it seems to be a mystery) and "performs" self-induced miscarriages...not really artful at all if you ask me.
