| I'm Not a Piece of ASs....hmmmm yeah. I wonder when a flirt is a flirt and when i've been harrassed. When my boss's friend leans in and kisses me when he leaves the office .... I liked it and followed up and he acted like that was then and don't bother him. It seems like we're expected to take 'it' in stride. Maybe something that pisses us off deserves the sexual harrassment charge. |

| When I first moved to LA I took a job logging audio tapes for a video 'company' -- everything was under the table and I was grateful for my first job so when my boss (and might I mention, only colleague at the company) asked me to work late so he could teach me a new tech machine, I jumped at the chance. That night as I slave away logging the audio and waiting for him to give me my lesson, he asked me if I had ever given a blowjob to an older man. I dodged the question and then told him I wasn't feeling well so I could get the heck out of there. I never went back and decided to take "it" in stride. Looking back I wish I had done something -- but the danger is, when you're young and starting out, you're expected to 'accept' that it's Hollywood -- you pick yourself up, dusty yourself off and work with one eye open. I wonder if more of us took action, would it make a difference for those coming behind us -- I'm really not sure. |
