Re blog on missing the signals on SEX AND THE CITY?
The week before SEX AND THE CITY opened I had a hair cut and all the women at the salon were talking about it, from the twenty year old who does shampoos to the owner. They said that all the screens on the West Side they'd tried to book over the internet were already sold out. That should have given the guys a heads up that the first weekend was going to be huge. I went with two friends a couple of weeks after the opening on a Thursday night and the theater was so crowded with women we had to sit under the screen. Maybe because the guys weren't there, they didn't realize how big it really was.
