Chapters do spectacular panels and this one was presented at the Los Angeles chapter's 2007 Forum, a fall event with an excellent series of panels. The 2008 Forum is coming up in November - if you live in Los Angeles.

EROTICA: A Woman's Perspective
What we’re learning is that women are not only in front of the camera but behind the camera in the adult industry and throughout the executive offices. In fact, and the panel will speak to this, women in the adult industry may be, per capita, more numerous behind the camera and in executive offices than in the mainstream industry. So we are going to explore these trends and realities today. Today is not about whether porn is good or bad, whether it should be promoted or banned, it's about the history and theory of it. It’s here and it's major. And it's particularly interesting now with the involvement of women in the industry side of it.

Constance Penley, professor of Film and Media Studies at UC Santa Barbara (who has been teaching an under-graduate course at UC Santa Barbara since 1993 on pornographic film) - moderates a panel to bring to Women in Film much needed attention to women who work in the adult industry.

The panel includes Kelly Holland, the CEO of Chicmedia, adult filmstar Jane Hamilton (a.k.a Veronica Hart), Sandra Staggs, a 14- year cable industry marketing veteran and her partner Anne Aaronson who formed Two Hearts Entertainment.

The content discussed in this panel is intended for mature viewers only (at least 18 years of age).
